Last Sabbath in Santiago

We were really bummed waking up Sabbath morning, because this was our last day in Santiago. But we knew we had a busy, Sabbath day ahead. So we put our sadness aside and went about our day.
We went to church and sat behind the Lupkey family. I have not properly introduced the Lupkey family, they are the newest addition to the PAMAS missionary family. Wendy and Dwayne became good friends with Brian and Joy when they moved up to Santiago and they use to do a lot of medical missions together. Then the opportunity arose for some missionaries to go up to a village called Mayoyao. Brian and Joy prayed about it and decided that they would be the ones to go, but needed to be part of an organization. So Wendy and Dwayne invited them to join PAMAS.
Brian and Joy are the sweetest people and they have 2 daughters, Ellen-2 years old and Eliana-9 months old. Ellen is SOOO full of energy and she is SOO adorable. She kept us entertained throughout the church service. She was so funny, always turning around to give us high-fives.
After church we had pot-luck again, this one was not as crazy. A) Because there were less people there. B) Because LeAnne and I were really hungry, so we played the "Filipino food game" so we could fill our plates. Not gonna lie, we were impressive ;) Ellen and Eliana were there and we spent most of the time playing with them. We had to get our fill in, since it was our last day :(
In the afternoon we went to Purok 6 for the Sabbath Medical Mission. This time, LeAnne and I were able to contribute! We put the massage skills, that we learned during the L.I.G.H.T. training, to good use. We must have given at least 20 massages each. The people REALLY enjoyed this (obviously!) but the fact that American's were giving them free massages really impressed them and they were very touched (no pun intended).
Bam! Photobombed! :)
After everyone was done getting massages, we spent time with the kids. They never cease to amuse us. So much giggling and simple English questions, this is what makes working in the Philippines SOO worth it. The kids are so happy and out going. They're not all hiding behind their electronics, they're running around outside and playing with all the other kids in their neighborhood. So if I were to have to give a singular answer to "Why do you love being a missionary?" "The children" would be my answer. :)
We were relieved when we remembered that our nightly meetings were finished, so our busy day was over sooner than last time. But at the same time, we were sad. Our last day in Santiago was over, and thus closed another chapter in our mission adventure. It was a lot of fun and we were happy that we were able to come visit the last couple weeks. Now we're off to Palawan for our last couple weeks in the Philippines. :)
Me, Wendy, and LeAnne. It had been a fun-filled couple of weeks. :(
