A day at the Project

The day after we arrived in Brookes Point, was spent out at the Project (for those of you who are unfamiliar with "the project", this is a post I did about it last year when I was here). Wendy and Dwayne had (quite literally) followed us to Palawan and were gonna spend a couple days here just to meet with all the missionaries. I was excited because we didn't spend alot of time here at the start of our trip, and I love the Project! I love everything about it; the location, the set-up, and all the loving people you find inside!
We spent the first half of the morning in Danny and Ging's apartment. Ging was busy preparing food for the missionaries lunch, so we were left with the AWESOME job of entertaining Haddie. This little girl decided it would be fun to play dress-up...with me....in her clothes. Needless to say, it was adorable...but nothing fit just right. At one point, She wanted me to wear her shoes, but she insisted that my feet were too dirty so she took me to the bathroom and washed my feet. It was so cute!
This is what happens when you play dress-up with a 2 year old.
While we waited for lunch to be served, Ging gave us her left-over Mango Float. Yum! Mango Float is pretty much the best thing ever! Its, basically, graham crackers, mangos, and a condensed milk/cream mixture all layered together and then frozen. It is the best Filipino dessert EVER and one of the things I miss whenever I leave :( She only had a little left...It didn't take long for us to devour it....
Soon after it was time for Lunch. All the food looked incredible, but my favorite was the "stuffed peppers" that Tanya made. One thing you need to know about the Philippines, is that due to the constant tropical weather, a lot of the vegetables come out SMALLER than usual. So the green peppers grown here, have a size comparison similar to Jalapeno's grown in the States. So they were like these little, baby, stuffed peppers. They were SOO cute and super delicious!
After lunch the meetings continued. Then finally they were over and we were enjoying our last moments with Wendy. At this point, Haddie had found a rice sack in the hangar and brought it outside and then crawled in it. It was so funny, no reason or explanation, just brought out the sack and crawled in it. Skye and Ping-ping had some fun playing with it and carrying her around in the sack. So adorable!
Wendy sits in the little Utopia on the project.
The next day, we would be waking up early to drive down to Rio Tuba in order to catch a boat to Balabac. So we had to say our final goodbyes to Wendy and Dwayne now. It had been a fun couple of weeks, and these goodbyes were the first of many in the following weeks. So it was hard...but hopefully we'll see each other again...hopefully...:/
Last pictures with Wendy :(
