Last Call!

My Friday started earlier than usual. I wanted to Skype with my family for Thanksgiving which required me to wake up at 5am. Waking up so early wasn't as difficult as I thought it would be.
LeAnne was feeling like herself again, so we were able to go with Wendy and the gang for the last day of visitations. Since there were many patients that needed to be checked on from our previous visitation experiences, we spent the morning checking on former patients.
Most of the patients were located in Purok 6, so we started there. Our first stop was by our charcoal patient, aka the baby with the rash. We arrived to find a very happy baby sitting with her mother. The mom was very excited to see us and tell us that the charcoal had worked and the babies rashes were gone. We were excited to see that we were able to cure another patient with Natural Remedies and that we were able to spark an interest for Natural healing with a new family!
Early, Davin, and Fraco
Next we caught up with Franco, the hydrotherapy patient. When our team first met Franco, he had just recently given up smoking, he had a very high-blood pressure, and he had difficulty breathing. Davin decided to put him on a 10-day hydrotherapy treatment. At the end of his treatment, his blood pressure had dropped to a normal 120/70 and his breathing problem was not as constant. Before even simple tasks, such as getting out of bed or walking to the bathroom, would cause him to lose his breath, now he can do these simple tasks at ease. (Praise God!) He says, that now its only activities that increase his heart rate, that cause him to lose his breath. Wendy gave him a quick check-up and referred him to the Adventist Hospital so that he could get his heart checked out for further healing. But overall, Franco said the hydrotherapy helped him a lot and that he definitely felt a difference at the end of the treatment. He and his family have since been participating in bible studies held by one of our L.I.G.H.T. missionaries.
Next we went to check on Cherry Mae, our Rheumatic Heart patient. Two days earlier, Wendy had brought her in for her first of MANY shots. Wendy told us that she was especially proud of Cherry Mae. She knew she was coming in for a shot and didn't cry, whine, of wince in fear as she entered the hospital. They waited for the doctor and were finally called in. Wendy told us that when she saw the size of the needle that the doctor was going use on her, she and the family members that accompanied Cherry Mae, made little gasps of horror. But Cherry Mae remained brave. Even as she took the large shot in her little behind, Wendy said "She made no scream, no objection, but only let a single teardrop rolled down her cheek." Wendy was so proud of her that she bought her a sweet-roll from the cafeteria. "Not that I want to reward her with bad eating habits, but it was the only thing I could think of." Wendy said. "Next time, I'll plan ahead and give her a healthier treat." and there will be a next time...more like every 21 days, for the next 5 years :(
But anyways, today while we visited Cherry Mae she was running and playing with friends, which was a relief to see. She came in for her check-up and had a smile on her face. She was staying updated on her medication and was eating more. Her little sister was also feeling much better today. Such a relief!

Davin passes out garlic pills as he drives down the streets of Purok 6. lol.
We were happy to see such success in all of our patients today. Even the patients that we had met and discovered had high blood pressure, some started to make changes in their diet and had been eating more garlic (Because, apparently, garlic lowers your blood pressure! How cool is that? Fun Fact for Me, today!). It was cool to see the impact that was made in only a couple weeks of visitations to this little village.
We spent the rest of the afternoon running around with our heads chopped off. We had a lot of last minute errands to run before L.I.G.H.T. graduation that night and the fast-approaching Sabbath. Now, I'm missing those extra 2 hours of sleep I missed this morning... :)

One stop we had to make, a quick interview with the Lupkey family
"From the fullness of his grace we have all received one blessing after another."
