And we're off!

The alarm goes off at 3am, and after some whining and threats to destroy my phone, we're awake and throwing our bags into the back of Wendy and Dwayne's truck. It is finally time for us to head back to Palawan. We were incredibly fortunate, because Wendy and Dwayne just happened to be traveling to Manila the same day we were. So we were able to tag-along with them! By 3:30am, the 4 of us, were on the 8 hour, bumpy ride to Manila.
We arrived at the airport at 9:30am, (Thanks to clear roads and high speeds, Dwayne was able to cut 3 hours off our time) Our plane didn't leave until 12:30pm, so we checked in and decided to devour some amazing food.
Lol, they had this in the airport and I couldn't resist.
This was our first time eating at a restaurant in a VERY long time, so we had to choose wisely. Asian, Pizza, or Pancakes....the choice was immensely difficult for 2 hungry Americans, but we finally settled on Pancakes.
The Pancake House was a sight for sore eyes! At this point it had been about 3 months since we had last had REAL pancakes and we may or may not have pigged out a bit. I ordered the Mango Crepes, which were actually listed under the dessert menu...but I figured fruit, whip cream, pancake batter...same difference. ;)
When we were finished we headed down to security. In the Philippines, the security lines are segregated by gender. In most cases, it takes females a lot longer to get through the lines than guys. However, on this particular Sunday, as we approached we saw the Men's line stretched across the room and the female line was COMPLETELY empty. "Well, it's a good day to be a girl" I said to LeAnne as we breezed through our security line.
The picture doesn't fully capture how long the line was because they finally decided to open a 2nd mens line right when I took the picture.
We boarded our plane and 1 hour later we were back on the gorgeous Island of Palawan. Upon arriving in Puerto, we brought our stuff to AWA, where we would be staying, and then ran some errands in Puerto including shopping at NCCC and eating a delicious meal at Ima's (YUM!)
The next morning we "slept in" (which on this trip we have been getting up by 7am, almost everyday, so sleeping in means our internal alarm clocks go off about 7:30am....so sad :(   ) and then caught a shuttle to Brookes Point.
While on the shuttle this lady sat in front of us, while holding her baby. At one point during the ride she was holding the baby up-right so that the baby was looking over her shoulder and right at us. The baby (we have no idea whether it was a boy or girl. I thought it was a boy, but LeAnne thought girl...therefore they shall be referred to as Baby) just stared at us with these big eyes and never looked away. Later when the mom would try and change positions, Baby would just cry and cry until they were set up-right again to stare at us. It was so cute. It was sad, later when they were getting out of the shuttle, Baby started to cry because they couldn't stare at us anymore. :(
But, after a long 4 hour shuttle ride, we were finally back in Brooke's Point! It feels good to be back! Were excited to enjoy our last couple weeks here!

" Be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart, all you who hope in the Lord."
